Take a step back for a minute and ask yourself: What’s really keeping you stuck right now?
Now ask yourself the question again, but try to answer it from a broader perspective, looking past any obvious, surface-level issues. What is really keeping you stuck?
For most people, it’s usually something related to the past—either regret, guilt, or a version of both. Your "reel life" (memories you replay in your mind) can pull you down and deeply affect your real life.
From a logical standpoint, it actually makes sense why staying stuck feels comforting. We hold on to what’s familiar. Old memories. Old patterns. Old habits. Old identities. They may not feel good, but they are known. And the greatest fear humans have is the fear of the unknown.

The Gap in Our Thoughts
Often, there is a gap between what you think you want and what you’ve decided is your reality.
If you wake up every day thinking, “I don’t want to eat sugar,” you might believe you’re setting yourself up for change. But at the same time, you probably think a lot about sugar—the word is always in your head. So even if your plan is about resistance, your attention naturally gravitates toward the very thing you’re trying to avoid.
Now compare that to saying, “I am healthy and happy.”
The focus shifts. “Healthy” and “happy” start playing in the background of your mind. Your actions follow your focus, and change becomes more likely—not because of willpower, but because your attention has moved.

Integrity Is Action
There are countless books on the power of the subconscious mind, but there’s one thing about it that most people miss: Using affirmations alone is not enough.
Affirming sets the tone. Action proves integrity.
It’s not just “think positive.” It's an act anyway. Take action even when it feels messy, uncertain, or imperfect. Keep going. That’s how your mind learns to trust you.

Breaking the Cycle
It’s easy to get trapped in a loop of emotions and behaviors.
Here’s an example of a negative cycle:
The cycle continues because of judgment.
We criticize ourselves for being where we are.
Now look at the alternative:
The positive cycle:
The Treadmill of Judgment
Feeling stuck is like running on a treadmill. You’re constantly moving and exhausted, but you’re not going anywhere.
It’s understandable to judge your job, your home, or your relationship status. But judgment doesn’t free you.
Remember, the only reason you want something—a new car, a partner, a fit body—is because you believe it will make you feel better. We chase physical change in pursuit of an emotional change.
But emotions don’t come from your circumstances.
They come from your thoughts.
When you feel indecisive, it’s not because you don’t know what to do. It’s because you haven’t decided how you want to feel.
So How Do You Get Unstuck?
You stop judging.
When you focus on something you don’t want, and invalidate where you are, you feel worse. You block clarity. You block better ideas.
You’re allowed to neutrally recognize that something isn’t working for you. But if you feel confused or frustrated, take that as guidance—not failure. It’s a signal to release self-judgment.
Accept the stuckness. Appreciate where you are.
When you stop fighting, you free up the energy needed to shift into the positive cycle.
So don’t focus on what you want. Instead, focus on how you want to feel.
Then take one small step of action in that direction—to prove to yourself that you’re listening.
That’s how your momentum begins.
