Where Does Jealousy Come From?
While jealousy is often described as a resentment of another personās success or advantages, it's actually more of an inward emotion and can be helpful. Your mind is telling you something about your values and what you want.
Jealousy isn't just a feeling, thoughāit can also be seen in jealous behavior, like trying to control or limit a partner's interactions or becoming possessive about a particular friendship. Occasionally, you might feel jealous, and in other instances, you might act jealous.
ā” TL/DR:
Just because jealousy can feel terrible doesnāt mean itās wrong. Viewing jealousy as a signal for change is empowering.
Feeling jealous is different than acting jealous. You canāt control your feelings. But you can control how you think and behave while feeling jealous and responding to it.
